Mankind and Dietary Fibre (DF)

Dietary Fiber Fact

  • Dietary fibre (DF) is found in the indigestible parts of cereals, fruits and vegetables.
  • A diet high in DF keeps the digestive system healthy. (Recently changed by top dietitians to read: Keep All Body Healthy from Head to Toe)
  • Most 21Century people don’t eat enough DF.
  • DF is classified into Soluble DF (SDF) and Insoluble DF (IDF). IDF is 100% indigestible by Humans , but SDF is either totally or partially digestible (Prebiotic) by beneficiary bacteria in the large intestine depending on type of SDF
  • Highest Natural Source of SDF is Acacia Gums (Gum Arabic,E414) 85%+ (20 times more DF than apple (apple rank second to gum arabic among all fruits & vegetables in content of SDF 2%) Gum Arabic is 100% digestible (Prebiotic) and has in addition 10times more calcium than fresh cow milk (Acacia gums contain Over 1000mg calcium/100g) (Food Test Lab. UK by Dar Savanna Sep2006)
  • Highest Natural Source of IDF is Fava Beans 20% , Lentils & Wheat (15%) (Fava Beans (Foul) is classified as animal food by some western societies but is classified by the Holy book Quran as food of low nutritional value due to high % of IDF (since all IDF goes as Roughage/stool)

All Food & Drug Administrations agree on a minimum daily intake of DF of 25g/day/adult, but it has been recently changed by US Institute of Medicine & Harvard School of Public Health to 38g as follows:

  • For Healthy adults <50 years of age 38g for male and 25g for female
  • For Healthy adult >50 years 31g for male and 21g for female

This from both types: SDF (Brands like Manna Fibre/FDfibre/TheFibre) and IDF (like Fava Beans or wheat brans, IDF must not exceed one quarter of total DF daily intake, to avoid constipation or sweeping away of minerals with roughage without absorption). Each stick of TheFibre has 5.8g, net fibre is 5g per stick pack or Manna Fibre stick/has 5.9g, net fibre 5g, FDfibre liquid (75ml) has 11.5g SDF, so For Healthy adults male or female <50, we recommend 5 stick per day of TheFibre (SweetFibre) or Manna Fibre (Safast) two or three in the morning before your meal or during it and three or two in the evening before or with the meal. For healthy adults male or female >50 use 4 sticks per day

How to Use (Manna Fibre or TheFibre)
