Heads–Up Poker

There are several types of poker both in land-based casinos and online casinos. The most common variation of poker these days is quite surely Texas Hold’em and there are several ways to play this game.

The traditional game has anywhere from 5-11 players that sit around the table and play simply until they decide to stop. There is also tournament style with a set amount of people and players continue play until they are knocked out. And then there is also something that is called heads-up play.

In heads-up play, there are 2 people playing one against the other. Players can play this type of game in traditional free style games as well as tournament style. The rules of the game remain the same although there are a few things that occur in heads-up poker that do not occur as often in a game with more people.

One of the differences is that players tend to play many more hands than they would usually play. Because there is only one opponent, if you fold too many hands consecutively you are simply donating your blind at all times. People tend to bluff much more in this type of game than others because you are only faced with one opponent so there is only one person to out bet and out beat!
